Context
ARTINFLOW is an art publishing house founded in 2004 by Ulrike Oppelt, which specializes in the publication and communication of artistic content in book form. With the aim of making artistic concepts and visions accessible to a broader public, we are committed to a form of communication that touches, inspires and opens up new perspectives.
The publishing house produces exhibition catalogs, (artist:inside) monographs, illustrated books and poetry by international artists from the fields of fine art, photography, contemporary art and design. By adequately linking text and image, we aim to comprehensively document works of art and their contexts. ARTINFLOW is in close contact with experienced players in the international art scene – including artists, curators, authors and galleries – and attaches great importance to the sustainable and local production of its publications.
Originally founded as an online gallery for contemporary art, ARTINFLOW quickly developed into an office for art mediation with a focus on the media-appropriate presentation of artistic positions and the creation of high-quality print publications. From 2014 to 2024, there was a media partnership with Kunstmatrix.com, whose digital tools enable the virtual trial hanging of artworks. This full-scale gallery expanded the possibilities for mediation and presentation and reinforced our efforts to integrate innovative methods into art mediation.
Editions are an important component of ARTINFLOW. We select and curate special collector’s items, limited artist editions and special editions directly in the artists’ studios. On request, ARTINFLOW Verlag artists can provide affordable smaller works and edition objects that are available beyond the gallery and exhibition business.
With over 60 published titles, of which 42 are currently available, ARTINFLOW has established itself as an integral part of the art and publishing landscape. It is our ambition to create an appropriate framework that opens up alternative perspectives through the presentation of diverse artistic content, characterized by differentiation, reflection and mutual inspiration, while at the same time promoting innovative concepts and the exchange of different networks. Careful project support and supervision of the production processes are central components of our working methods.
